We’ve released some exciting new design updates to the Show Profile and Episode pages on BlogTalkRadio. These designs enhance the listener experience by providing cleaner, more visually interesting and engaging, easier to navigate pages. They also help all of our hosts build their listener bases by making it simple to listen to, follow and share shows.

Below is an overview of the high-level changes that have been made to the Show Profile and Episode pages:

  • Overall, the Show Profile and Episode page designs have been streamlined to provide listeners with a cleaner, more easy to navigate, engaging listening experience.
  • “Share” and “Follow” features are now more prominent to help hosts build your listener bases.
  • We have redesigned the Episode page player to:
    • Include an image slideshow feature (which accommodates up to 5 images) to provide more visually engaging experience for listeners, while providing hosts with a simple way to highlight show-related imagery.
    • Enable the seamless integration of in-player video ads. For hosts who participate in revenue sharing, this will enhance their earning potential. As always, video ads are not included on Premium Plus and Pro Accounts.
  • We have added a wysiwyg editor to make it easier for hosts to format episode descriptions without needing to know HTML. Also, please note that we have removed the ability to include HTML (including image embeds) in episode and profile descriptions to try to streamline look and feel of pages. We added the image slideshow feature referenced above to be sure that hosts can still feature pictures with each episode. All historical images are still included, and will continue to be included, in the archived episode and profiles descriptions. You can view these now on the Beta site.
  • We have moved Show Notes and Show Videos into a collapsible “Show Extras” section.
  • We have made it easier to embed the show and episode players on any website. We have also made this feature more visible to users.
  • We are transitioning from a focus on friends to a focus on followers. You will maintain connection with all of your current friends. Moving forward, however, this is not included as an option. Listeners can follow your show, and you have the ability to follow them back.
  • We are removing the blogging feature from the site because of limited usage by users. All historical blog posts will still be available on the site.
  • We have removed the download file option for listeners on episode and profile pages. However, listeners can still add episodes to the iTunes library and listener to episodes to default media players. And, hosts can still easily download their files by going to the “Schedule Show” page, then by clicking on the “Archived” tab.
